Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Activities
At Black Shamrock, we turn our commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion into practical actions embedded in everyday operations. Our goal is to maintain an inclusive and fair environment where all employees can thrive.
Mandatory training covering Unconscious Bias, Tackling Bullying & Harassment, and Being an Active Bystander equips our team with tools to recognise and challenge bias, promote equitable treatment, and support collaboration.
Our recruitment and employee promotion processes are designed to be transparent and equitable. We review job descriptions and candidate assessments regularly to remove barriers and attract diverse talent. All employees involved in the hiring process complete 'Licence to Hire' training to ensure fairness. Our initiatives such as our annual 'Crack the Code' event, held around International Women's Day actively encourages female participation in the traditionally male-dominated gaming sector.
We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy on discrimination, harassment, bullying, and victimisation, supported by clear codes of conduct and confidential reporting channels. We have reviewed all policies through an inclusive lens and introduced additional ones to support our employees across the board. The studio also supports mental and physical wellbeing through wellness initiatives and flexible working arrangements that accommodate diverse needs, reinforcing a supportive workplace culture. Our accreditations confirm our genuine commitment to DEl.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility programme includes a dedicated Diversity pillar. We partner with charities and outreach programmes such as BelongTo, Guide Dog Ireland, Women in Games and many more, to promote diversity externally while celebrating the rich multiculturalism within our studio, which represents over 29 different nationalities.
